Automate is an AI-powered document processing engine that extracts 35+ metadata fields, classifies documents, and assigns confidence scores to support risk-based workflows. Through seamless API integration, it auto-populates metadata via structured JSON responses - improving efficiency and accuracy without disrupting existing processes.
Key Automate Capabilities:
Metadata Extraction: Automate can extract 35+ pieces of metadata from documents and identify issues, providing comprehensive metadata that benefits both document management and QC teams.
Confidence Scoring: The system assigns a confidence score to each processed document. This is where customer risk tolerance comes into play - some organizations are comfortable with auto-indexing when the AI is 100% certain of document classification (e.g., identifying a 1572 form from a specific investigator with a specific date), while others require human review regardless of confidence level.
Flexible Workflow: Customers can customize their risk tolerance and determine the level of human involvement in the workflow after Automate processes documents. Based on confidence scores, documents can either proceed to human QC review or be auto-indexed directly into the system.
Seamless Integration: For most end users, nothing really changes - they continue to submit documents as they do today. As documents enter the system, Automate’s API is triggered, processes the documents, and returns a JSON response that pre-fills the metadata in Veeva.
